Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has explained why he did not fulfill the father-son dream of the Youngs in yesterday’s FA Cup third round defeat to Everton 0-2 because it is an important game and not a charity match.

Of course, after the match, the English player use his Twitter account to tweet about his disappointment, saying it is “painful”.
However, Ferguson revealed that he did not follow the fans because he valued and respected the FA Cup.
“It’s tough to leave Tyler on the bench but we have to do it for the best of the team,” Ferguson said.
“One of the Everton players also nudged me, pressed me to do it as requested.”
“But we didn’t do it for charity.”
Darren knows about the connections because he is the son of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. So he has always been in his father’s shadow.
Tyler has made just one substitute appearance for Peterborough this season. And he is not named in any of the previous 14 matchday squads before the trip to Everton.
In a possible indication of his unhappiness at not playing against his son, Everton defender Young posted the word ‘gutted’ in capital letters on his X account on Friday morning.
“Father and son there. It didn’t happen,” former Everton defender Martin Keown said on commentary.
“But Ashley will be saying to him [Tyler], ‘Don’t worry, you’ve got a big future ahead of you’.”
